CULTURAL WARRIORS (Geneva, Szwajcaria)
Projekt Cultural Wariors wystartował w połowie lat 90 kiedy to Lionpaw mieszkał w Londynie, gdzie zbierał inspirację i edukację z ówczesnej kultury sound system jaka kwitła w tamtym czasie w stolicy Anglii. Wtedy to zakiełkowała w nim idea aby zbudować swój własny sound system oraz przenieść tą potężną wibrację do rodzinnej Szwajcarii. Następstwem jego aktywności był cykl Dub Club Genewa, który na wiele lat wpisał się w muzyczny pejzaż miasta. Kolejnym krokiem było zbudowanie własnego studia oraz labelu, które to od 2000 roku prężną działalnością nieprzerwanie dostarczają amunicję wysokiej jakości dla topowych sound systemów na całym świecie. Liczba wydawnictw wynylowych sięga kilkudziesięciu!!!, a projekt Cultural Warriors gościł na setkach imprez i festiwali na całym świecie. Nadszedł czas na pierwszą wizytę CW w naszym kraju!

GOOD VIBES FAMILIA (Kłobuck)
Good Vibes Familia Hi Power – to pochodząca z Kłobucka koło Częstochowy, otwarta komitywa zrzeszająca wielbicieli starych płyt analogowych, przepełnionych basem i bezkompromisową wibracją. W swoim sesyjnym graniu często łączą różne gatunki szeroko pojętej muzyki reggae – od roots, early dancehall, po mocny, świadomy dub. Często muzyczna uczta przeplatana jest nawijkami zaprzyjaźnionych artystów, jak również etatowego nawijacza Good Vibes Familii – Mic Roots’a. Grali na największych imprezach w kraju, m.in. Ostróda Reggae Festiwal, Dub Temple w Krakowie, Dub Ark w Łodzi, Regałowisko w Bielawie, czy tez Reggae On w Częstochowie. Przez kilka lat działalności byli organizatorami wielu imprez. Muzyczna ścieżka soundystemowa pozwoliła na artystycznej drodze spotkać takie polskie soundy jak – Rise Up!, Dubseed, Pandadread, Roots Melody, Jah Love i wielu, wielu innych. Rok 2015 okazał się przełomowy dla Good Vibes Familia Hi Power z racji zbudowania własnego systemu nagłośnieniowego. Jeszcze bardziej świadomie mogą szerzyć wartości które sami uznają za fundamentalne. Zatem do zobaczenia przy ścianie głośników na sesjach! Good Vibes no compromise!

[Review] Cultural Warriors – “Remix from the Warriors Camp Chapter 2” (Cultural Warriors Music)

It’s the 4th album of the Swiss group and the second one in the series of remixes of their own tunes played by them on sessions. “Remix from the Warrior Camp” keeps amazing pearls, starting with the mighty King Alpha and gentle Earl 16 in “True Rastaman”; next we get slayed by Johnny Clarke and Jacin in a meditational version of “Fittest of the Fittest” and then by another rootsman Johny Osbourne with Russ Disciples in “Inflation”. Heavy accents are Natural Black and Artman, Color Red and Roots Masashi with briliant, trance dub version, just like Sandeeno and Bony Fly. Murray Man and Roaring Spirit dot the i’s on the album. Every tune is an undeniable killer and with such an arsenal, Cultural Warriors are able to mash up any soundsystem. Don’t miss them live in your area when you have a chance!

Brother Culture – “New Generation The Remix” EP (Evidence Music)

Swiss label Evidence Music has recently released a remix EP, which is based on a track with Brother Culture “New Generation”. The riddim – bass-like with strong influences of dub and dubstep – is the work of Derrick Sound, crew connected with the label. Brother Culture flows in his best style, warning the people of new generation against addictions and the pursuit of money. Next tracks are an instrumental and dub version by Derrick Sound and its friends from Little Lion Sound. After this introduction time for remixes – the first made by High Elements is more electronic one, on the other hand Cultural Warriors prepared skanky steppers with a solid bass. Another well known artist is Adam Prescott, who added a jungle flavour to the original track. At the end Max RubADub shows a modern, rub-a-dub digital reggae style.

Cultural Warriors & Krs One – “Green Related”

I think there is no need of a wide presentation of those artists – Cultural Warriors are Swiss who destroyed many dance floors all over the Europe with their remixes and dubplates, Krs One is a living hip-hop legend. It’s not often for the soundsystem environment to cooperate and produce with the hip-hop one, but when it comes to it, it must be a banger. The single “Green Related” contains 5 tunes: two hip-hop versions, two stepper ones and one reggae-hip-hop. On the vocal versions we can hear Krs One rhyming about militant Swiss from Geneva, in the dub version Lion Paw (one of the producers from Cultural Warriors) confirms that he is talented by amazingly connecting steppers with a heavy beat, reverbs and a rumbling bass. I hope that Cultural Warriors will release more things like that – with a conscious message and highest musical level.

Cultural Warriors – Dubplates Remix

Just recently, Swiss Cultural Warriors released their new album, which was announced to be released in April. They promote dub in Genewa since 1998. Cultural Warriors are composed of Lion Paw, Ikwa, Dub Soljah and Ivan. They organized many events, including Dub Club and since 2001 they have been running their own label Cultural Warriors Music.
