Rootical Attack 12” – Mr Zebre&El Fata

Rootical Attack 12” – Mr Zebre&El Fata

indeksMr Zebre is already a well-known player on sound system scene (http://dubmassive.org/search/mr+zebre), whom working is rooted in European coutries as well as Mexico and Peru. One of his recent releases is another one in French Rootical Attack label. On the A side in “I Love Jah” we hear soundsystem old sweat El Fata, whom voice adds a meditative atmosphere to this heavy riddim. We get also a dub version, where meditation is enhancing as the music goes deeper and heavier. And the third version with added melodica raises us to the highest level of musical contemplation. On the B side Mr Zebre presents us the history of Indian Yamasee, who were fighting with English and Spanish colonizers in the XVII and XVIII century. He pays tribute to them in the best, heavyweight style, sending our body and mind into Indian world.

Dubateers – “A Decade of Dub”

Dubateers – “A Decade of Dub”

DecadeOfDubYes, it is a decade of Dubateers music at the sound system arenas. For me it’s a personal thing, because many of Nick’s productions were my introduction to the world of dub from UK. And now many of them is available for us on one release!

If you are deep into dub you will know and recognize them, if you are new then this album is a must for your musical education. Indisputable killers like “Jah Make We” with Singer Blue, “We rule”, “My people” with Carliesa Meakes, crazy “Twilight Skank” but also a lot of unreleased, instrumental dubs! A ruff&tuff guide to Dubateers’ musical style – digital madness based on a heavyweight bassline, often with fast tempo, with a catchable, recognizable main theme – just listen “Jah Make We” or “We Rule” and you will now what I’m talking about. And this album has one of my most favourite tracks with Creation Stepper – “Go Backayard”, mixed by Disciples, followed by a really raw and rough dub version.

Crazy Hertz – “Material Things” (Steppas Records)

Crazy Hertz – “Material Things” (Steppas Records)

AS7002-inbag-ASteppas Records label brings us another talented producer on its 7” release. Crazy Hertz is an Italian artist and presents us a deep, slow but seriously heavy and rolling riddim full of dub. Vocally supported by a great voice of Jane Warriah, with a important message about material world, this tune flows through the speakers massively and knocks to our minds.

“Rudebwoy Corporation” EP (Lion’s Den)

“Rudebwoy Corporation” EP (Lion’s Den)

LIONS4WD001_frontEvery time I hear about Lion’s Den’s new release I wonder what they will surprise me this time. I got used to guests in the form of interesting  vocalists and amazing, creative producers (often less known). This time they join forces with Italian label 4Weed and give us 12” with 6 heavy productions. Side A is 3 tunes with music of Dub All Sense, who has created very heavy riddims. On vocals we have Mr Williamz (already known, among others, from cooperation with Mungos Hi Fi) with incredibly strong Haffi Bun”; MrDill Lion Warriah from Italy in My Story” has showed how to flow over a typical dub roller. Longfingah in “Old Shatterhandproves his high form. Side B are remixes that will make smile on the faces of all dubheads. At the beginning we get version from French Welders Hi Fi Haffi Bun” is even stronger than the original, which seemed impossible Another surprise is the remix by Zion Train in “Another story“, in his style, with exposed bass, he lift us above the orbit. At the end we get a remix by Jambassa from Italy, who used to work a lot in the netlabel Aquietbump. Here they present amazing tune, slightly embedded in the style of minimal dub.

Rootikal Dub Foundation feat. MrDill Lion Warriah/El Nadie (4 Weed Records)

Rootikal Dub Foundation feat. MrDill Lion Warriah/El Nadie (4 Weed Records)

4WDV001 Artwork4weed is a Italian label/netlabel, which has appeared on our site several times. This time they have released 12” loaded with a seriously heavyweight dub. All of this due to Rootikal Dub Foundation, who serve us amazing steppers “It’s time to change” with beautiful saxophone’s part, additionally MrDill Lion Warriah appears on the vocal, ideally fitting into the track with great lyrics. Also we get a dub version by 4weed All Stars, which gives us a lot of kickin’ bass and transports us to a soundsystem arena. The release is complemented by El Nadie from Turin, who created addictive melody and when the bass comes into the play we feel huge potential of this steppers. The dub version is a top-of-the-line mystique and heavyweight climate!

Mad Codiouf – “Polska / Koolios” (12”)

Mad Codiouf – “Polska / Koolios” (12”)

fb-digipirate-mad-codiouf-skanky-yardDigipirate label is back with a bang, due to a Belgian producer Mad Codiouf who embeds his works in Iration Steppas’ style – that is really powerful bass and a heavy atmosphere. His productions were released recently by netlabel Maree Bass (‘Militant Art Of Dub) and the lack of releases on vinyl was surpsising, fortunately Digipirate rewards us with a surplus.

The album contains 2 track + dub mixes. The first one has a little surprising title “Polska” (Poland)   – I guess that the inspiration was Mad Codiouf’s visit with OBF sound system in our country. The tune itself is amazing, heavy dub steppers, which, together with the version, should be played on every session about 3-4 AM. “Koolios” is a dark roller, that slowly crushes with its heavy atmosphere, while the dub version plays with effects in masterly style. It is worth mentioning that Mad Codiouf’s productions for a long time were played by OBF as dubplates, smashing system rooms. Without a doubt, a “must have” for every maniac of heavyweight dubwise style!!!

The powerful return of Alpha&Omega to ZamZam Sounds (7”)

The powerful return of Alpha&Omega to ZamZam Sounds (7”)

zamzam23_A&O_jacket_label copyAnother tune from Alpha&Omega for ZamZam Sounds is a powerful, massive, earthshaking riddim vocally supported by don Dillinger’s DJing and Don Goliath’s warm voice in refrains. This is the essence of Alpha&Omega’s roller-style, with magic melodica and organ melodies, high speed hi-hats, spatial synths and bass&drums line crushing your bones.

This blazing tune will be available in late October.
