nish wadadaNish Wadada śpiewa od wielu lat, ale na scenie roots&culture zaczęła być widoczna dopiero ostatnimi czasy. Urodzona w Holandii, po spędzeniu trochę czasu w ojczyźnie swoich rodziców – Afryce, gdzie szukała swoich korzeni, teraz jest z powrotem i daje nam topową muzykę roots&dub. EP „Queens & Kings” to jedno z jej ostatnich wydawnictw, które podsumowuje 2 lata prac z  Jah Version, Roots Dimension i Taking Over Productions, z udziałem takich legend jak Matic Horns. Te kawałki to świetna kombinacja jej melodyjnego, miękkiego ale mocnego głosu z bardzo dobrymi riddimami w stylistyce UK roots&dub. Tytułowy kawałek czy „Divine Intervention” to najlepsze dowody na potwierdzenie tego stwierdzenia – potężne brzmienie z mocnym wokalem i liryką. Zdecydowanie czekam na więcej!

Ondubground zremkisował parę klasyków roots reggae takich jak „Never Forget Jah” Petera Broggsa, gdzie dodał głęboką, dubową wibrację. Piękny hymn Judy Mowatt „Black Woman” został przesunięty do rytmu steppers w nowoczesnej, dubowej stylistyce, „Wings With Me”  Ini Kamoze’a jest otoczony pulsującym basem a „Run For Your Life” I-Roya z Michaelem Rosem to prawdziwy killer wagi ciężkiej. [DS-DV003] ArtworkTo już trzecie wydawnictwo w serii DubVault od Dub-Stuy Records z Nowego Jorku. Tym razem za darmo można ściągnąć recut słynnego kawałka Aswadu – „Warrior Charge”. Ta melodia jest znana chyba każdemu fanowi sound systemów, bo jest to gruby UK rootsowy kawałek i i jest na ścieżce dźwiękowej w filmie „Babylon” – a ten film to obowiązkowa pozycja dla każdego, kto chce poznać kulturę sound systemową.




Kawałek został zremixowany przez Double Tigera aka Jay Spakera z Dub-Stuy Records / Tour de Force. Ma cięższą linię basową i kicki, ale duch oryginału, z masywnymi dęciakami, został zachowany – i nie może być inaczej z takim klasykiem!

K-Sänn Dub & Daman – „Weapon of Resistance”

cover-kds-ft-daman-frontK-Sänn Dubto francuski producent znany, między innymi, z wielu wydawnictw dla labelu ODG. Do albumu „Weapon of Resistance” zaprosił wokalistę Damana z Killa Sound Yard. Ma on charakterystyczny głos i – co ważne – w jego tekstach możemy znaleźć wiele cennych , aktualnych komentarzy o tematyce społecznej i politycznej. Na tym wydawnictwie przekaz jest połączony z solidnym, elektornicznym dub steppa z bogatym instrumentarium i niezłymi aranżacjami, gdzie ostre syntezatory spotykają miękkie dźwięki instrumentów (sprawdźcie tytułowy kawałek!). Bardzo dobry album dla wszystkich fanów elektronicznego dubu!
