Brain Damage & High Tone – the essence of the French dub scene.

There has been a while since Brain Damage released new tunes, but only now I have recovered after that massive bass attack. In the march Brain Damage put out a collaborative album with High Tone and I can certify that it’s a meeting of two French dub scene heroes. It’s not the first album that integrate two dub bands – we’ve seen very good cooperation between Impovisators Dub and Iration Steppas, and earlier between The Disciples with High Tone, who also teamed up with Kaly Live Dub and Zenzile. This time High Tone and Brain Damage treat us with 11 really heavy, climatic tunes, being complementary to one another and coddling their fans. “High Damage” is an album mostly for lovers of heavy dub with many elements of electronic music and dubstep. I can ensure that the gig of those two bands would be mind-blowing. On http://www.highdamage.fr/ you can hear few tunes from this album. Besides this release, Brain Damage as Brain Damage Dub Session published a single with Sir Jean including 2 tunes “Royal Salute” and “Tanx for life”, both with versions. This face of the band is smoother, but has their specific style. “Royal Salute” came out earlier on a compilation released by JFX label and there is also a vide oclip – Royal Salute.

Dla mnie dużym szokiem było przesłuchanie koncertu Brain Damage- Short Cuts Live z 2009 r. nagranego w Saint – Etienne. Niesamowite, niepowtarzalne brzmienia i specyficzny, trochę psychodeliczny klimat. Każdy miłośnik dubowych dzwięków powinien tego posłuchać! W całości na youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAJUUtsbYWQ&feature=related Gorąco polecam.Pozdrawiam.
