Cubiculo Records presented to us their newest 7″, where Subactive from France meets a reggae veteran Mikey Murka. Subactive arised in 2010 in Strasburg and focused lovers of hard skank and heavy bass, basing on modern productions with an influence of digital reggae of 80’s. As for their releases they made i.a. remix of Dreadsquad and a greatly appreciated album “Frontline” in Scotch Bonnet label. They also organise “Dub Soundz” cycle in Strasburg, which has been visited by OBF, Stand High, Mungo’s Hifi, Kenny Knots, Vibronics, Disrupt, Riddim Tuffa, El Fata, Dawa Hifi, The Dub Machinist, Weeding Dub or IIdren Reality. As for the album – Mikey is slowly getting the status of a living legend. He started with Unity Sound, where he was singing alongside Kenny Knotts, Errol Bellot, Selah Collins, Rich Davis, Peter Bouncer, Demon Rocker, he also appeared by the side of Coxsone or Saxon. The single brings back creations of Jahtari, but it’s distinguished by heavy, pulsating bass and a great toasting by Mikey. It’s a record for digital sounds lovers, but fans of heavy, low tones won’t be disappointed.
