The Japanese have discovered dub a long time ago, giving us a lot of it on a high level. It’s enough to mention Audio Active, Dry&Heavy, Mighty Massa, Shandi-I, Shaggy Tojo, Killa Sista and the heart beats faster on the thought of their music. Unfortunately the last group doesn’t exist anymore, but one of the girls is active on the dub scene. I’m talking about Makiko, who played keys and melodica in Killa Sista. Now she is using her talent to create her own music. She also plays as a guest in i.a. Chabzo or on Jah Tubbys releases. Her newest production was released on 176sound label, about which we will surely hear more. “High Stepper”, which is the name of tune made by Makiko, is a hard steppers with an amazing melodica, which conquered the whole song. The dub version is a killer that rolls like a heavy train without slowing down for a second. Japanese dub still messes with our heads pretty decently.
