Elephant Bass (http://elephantbasslab.tk) is a new Italian netlabel focused on dub/steppers/electro/dubstep music. On their debut they released 2 compilations: Various Artists-Elephant Bass vol.1 and vol. 2. The first one contains mostly ‘standard’ compositions of digital steppers that don’t outstand especially, but tune by Mexican Stepper, who has also been included on Original Dub Gathering netlabel compilations, raised my blood pressure. The second one is more interesting, musically more experimental and various. There are not only 4/4 compositions – you can hear some breakbeats. Again crew known from ODG – U.Stone (remixed by Dziga), Phoniandflore and Mexican Stepper – they presents a high level, but others like A Man Called PJ don’t fall behind.
To sum up – it’s pretty good and promises well.
