ZamZam Sounds’ new 7” with Daba Makourejah

A brand new 7” from ZamZam Sounds is out now! Croatian producer Egoless has rebuilt Sly&Robbie’s classic riddim “Revolution”, mostly known from a vocal version with Dennis Brown. In his version we have beautiful, soulful voice of Senegalese roots reggae singer Daba Makourejah, who is singing an inspired lyric in Wolof on the importance of education in the upliftment of a country’s youth. Egoless’ riddim is an excellent work with rich effects, sound and masterful dub mixing.

Strictly Dub Records launches free download series

After a successful, debut 7” (http://dubmassive.org/en/9796/dixie-peach-variedub-pressure-strictly-dub-records/) Strictly Dub Records label returns with a free download series. The first release comes from Estonian producer Laktic who gives us 4 instrumental tracks with nice, deep dub space and melodic chords.

Indica Dubs presents a lot of new releases. Firstly, a 10” with a sound system banger with Dan Man on the vocal and music by Indica Dubs and Belgian producer Forward Fever.

Brain Damage in Jamaica

Martin Nathan aka Brain Damage announces a new album and this one will be very special. Due to friendship with Samuel Clayton Jr, sound engineer and internationally respected producer (Steel Pulse / Toots & the Maytals) the doors of legendary Harry J Studio has been opened to him – Martin has got closer to the roots of his favourite genre. The result of this is cooperation with five legendary reggae artists: Horace Andy, Winston McAnuff, Willi Williams, Ras Michael, Kiddus I.

The album will be released in October 2015. Looking forward, this gonna be huge!

Two new releases from O.B.F Sound System

Two new releases from O.B.F Sound System. The first one is dedicated to Nelson Mandela, a classic mashing tune from French crew with Mr. Williamz on the vocal. The tune has been tested on many dances – 7” is available now, so grab your copy!

The second release is 12” available from 23rd of March. This one refers to O.B.F’s album “Wild”, we get two tracks from this LP. The first one is great “Dub Controller” with Charlie P including an additional, unreleased dub version. The B side are “Poorman Life” with Mr. Williamz and extra versions – a vocal one with Sr Wilson (“Soundman Session”) and a pure riddim.

Trigram Four – Zentash Gigawatt (Steppas Records)

The 4th part of Trigram series is out now. Dedicated to extraordinary dub music this time takes us to deep, tribal valley filled with wild drumming and beautiful ethno-influenced melodies. The trance mood is doubled by a powerful bassline. The second version is enriched in some vocal snippets and additional instruments. In a word: a rough&tough journey to mystical lands.

The tracks are made by Bosnia & Herzegovina’s Zentash Gigawatt, who is debuting in Steppas Records with this release.

Jacko & Daman – “Soundsystem” (Roots Cooperation)

Based in Murgia Italian label Roots Cooperation has recently released interesting 7” with Jacko and Daman on vocals. The lyrics say that it is not so easy to organize a dance with a sound system and it is an important voice after last series of releases celebrating the sound system culture. “They don’t want our home made tower” – people who tried to make an event with a custom made stack met with such attitude for sure…

French singers sing about “hard times” with beautiful harmony and together with the riddim, mixed in Berlin by Sawah, give us a top a top tune for sound system arenas. Sawah is also responsible for a dub version with bass punch, perfect for skanking.
