Forthcoming release by London-based Indica Dubs scheduled for end of the March is another cooperation with talented Belgian producer Forward Fever and the second one featuring Danman from Iration Steppas crew and. In “The Wisest Live Long” he flows on the riddim at his best. On the flip side we get pure instrumental with nice melodies and fast tempo. Pure sound system vibes!

When I hear that Steve Vibronics is making a new release, it gives me the shivers, no matter what it will be – 7”, 10”, 12” or full album. Long awaited, the newest LP “The Return of Vibronics” surely can be found as one of the best made by the hands of one of the best dub producers of our times. Everyone, who knows Vibronics’ tunes can imagine what to expect – but here we get even more bass with great, catchy melodies; even more energy and dub! 12 heavy compositions, each of them can fire up a soundsystem dancefloor. The music is complemented by top vocalists: Micheal Prophet in a excellent, steppers riddim “Searching For Jah”, Macka B in his best style asks us are we ready (always!), Soom T on a initially rootical riddim splendidly sings against Babylon, Madu, who is singing with Steve on almost every show, knows all the ins and outs of the riddims and fits perfectly; Danman’s deejay style is great as usual, the same is valid for I-Mitri’s voicing. Vibronics’ LP one more time opens our minds for beautiful melodies in dub music. This release is a must for every dubhead!

Ps. Also a new, concert album has been released – Brain Damage&Vibronics – “Empire Soldiers live”. A whole hour with fantastic music from “Empire Soldiers” (http://dubmassive.org/5986/brain-damage-meets-vibronics-empire-soldiers-juz-wkrotce/). Well, it’s not much to add, grab it and listen. What a pity, that such concert never happened in Poland – the meeting of two, future dub titans!

Countdown is over, we don’t have to wait anymore for second Radikal Guru’s longplay intriguingly called “Subconscious”!!! Yes, it has been two years since the release of the “Rootstepa”, although the artist pleases us with his music pretty often – at least once a year he releases a single or makes a remix for somebody else. However, the full album attracts even more, and by the way creates concerns about the direction it is going to head to and if it’s going to be as good as the previous one. All of the doubts have been resolved. Right after the first few bars “Subconscious” (the opening tune “Earthwalker”) shows that Radikal is in a good shape. And so, thirsty of low frequencies, I get 10 tough tunes – three with promising guests: YT, Danman, Echo Ranks – only their names send shivers up my back, and the mentioned two of them are considered by me as leading sound system microphone warriors. About the single – “warning” with Echo Ranks you could have already read on our website. Back then I thought that a single like that raises the bar high for the whole album, but what I have heard on “Subconscious” broke me out of my shoes. YT in tune named “Stay Calm” showed his own style and fitted perfectly to the calm rhythm. Danman in “Know Yourself” presented a lyric that I have already heard on an Iration Steppas party and when I heard it again on the album i couldn’t pick myself up for the next few minutes. One would say – only 3 vocal tunes per 10 in total – but 3 vocalists of high class like that is a lot. Radikal deserves an applause for urging them to join his album (although he probably didn’t have to trouble too much, as he is a well known producer on the dub scene). As for the rest of the tracks – eponymous “Subconscious” deserves attention, it reveals Radikal’s fascination of jungle, what doesn’t disturb and even spices the whole thing up – just like in “Wicked Dub” where we can hear the typical sound that could also be heard in productions by Mark Iration (so nice!). “Indra” takes us into India, the next musical fascination of the hero of that review; “Different dub” put me in a trance; “Spaced out” and “Outernational” are tunes in Radikal’s typical style. The whole album is full of bass, although it could be not enough for dubstep fans, but for me it’s just perfect – the direction he went to is ideal for me, more into dub and with a huge respect to the roots. Ladies and gentlemen – I recommend you to buy the new album of our national dub pride!
Some time ago we have presented records from Dubble with Molara on vocals. And here they again give us a musical bomb with Dan Man as a vocalist, who is known in Poland for cooperating with Radikal Guru. Dubble will play on Dub Temple in Cracow in two weeks thanks to Dubseed. The eponymous tune is a tough dub steppers with a drilling bass and Danman’s vocals reproaching politicians flaws. Of course there is a dub version which I consider better than the original one – vestigial vocals, echo and bass making me feel like if I were in the outer space. On the other side of the album there is a known tune “Rise Up”, which appeared on Dub Iration Soundsystem’s “The Lost Books of Dub” and a dub version, which is energetic and reminds of Gorgon Sound creations, what undoubtedly is a big plus.
I am glad that the Croatian will show up in poland and I am sure that they will make an unforgettable show.

DAN MAN a.k.a. Sunny Voice to prawdziwy weteran brytyjskiej sceny sound systemowej. Urodzony w St. Elizabeth na Jamajce, wyemigrował do Wielkiej Brytani w roku 1967, jako 11 letni chłopiec. Jako muzyk i wokalista udziela się na niezależnej scenie brytyjskiej już od ponad 20 lat. Na kontynencie Dan Man najbardziej kojarzony jest z projektem Iration Stepas Sound System, z którymi w 2003 roku wydał w labelu Tandoori Space swój pierwszy 10” singiel “Too Much War”, a także regularnie występował w UK, Europie i po świecie. Inne jego bardzo dobrze przyjęte wydawnictwa to m.in. “Jah Love” z Rusko dla Tempa, “Jah Rain” z duetem Evergreen & Landlord dla Ranking Records (ze świetnym remixem RSD), czy “Wicked Haffi Run” z francuzami z OBF. Oprócz flagowego Iration Steppas, Danman blisko współpracuje także z The Rootsman (Third Eye Music),
Abdulem z Celtic Islam Production, a także od 2002 roku z dancehallowym artystą Bongo Chilli. MACK – dj i promotor, od blisko dekady działa na scenie undergroundowej muzyki elektronicznej. Od 2007 roku prowadzi skupiający się na basowej muzyce sklep płytowy Mash-up Records. W 2009 roku założył pierwszy poważny polski label wydający dubstep – Moonshine Recordings, rok później kolejny skupiający się na głębokich brzmieniach – New Moon Recordings. Jest winylowym maniakiem z ciężką torbą pełną świeżych produkcji. Jego sety djskie to mieszanka ciężkiego
basu, połamanych beatów i jamajskich brzmień.

KING SCOOBIE – selektor i wokalista związany z trójmiejską sceną soundsystemową. Debiutujący przed latami w pierwszych składach musicalu Metro, dziś najlepiej odnajduje się w harmoniach jamajskiego roots reggae i improwizacjach wokalnych do muzyki drum’n’bass. Współzałożyciel nieistniejącego już, bardzo aktywnego swego czasu projektu No Matta Name. Aktualnie
współpracuje z Pandadread Sound System i Psychokot Sound.
INVISIBLE STEPPERS – projekt djsko-producencki założony przez Wojtka Kruszewskiego (Warrior) i Dawida Koszałkowskiego (Kobinge). U jego podstaw leży wspólna fascynacja niskimi częstotliwościami i głębokimi tonami. Wojtek, absolwent szkoły muzycznej, już od dawna interesował się muzyką elektroniczną, wiele godzin poświęcając na poznawanie tajników produkcji. Spotkanie z Dawidem i jego kolekcją winyli otworzyło przed nim głębokie odmiany muzyki dubstep. Po wielu wspólnych imprezach pod szyldem ekipy Syndrome of Disorder postanowili zrobić coś razem i powołali do życia Invisible Steppers.
PSYCHOKOT SOUND – trójmiejski selectorsko-djski kolektyw powstały w 2008 roku. Jego rdzeniem i mózgiem są Parch i Wojtek. Ich sety to mieszanka bardzo różnych muzycznych doznań opierających się na rootsowej pulsacji rodem z Jamajki. Energiczny styl Psychokotów wykracza poza klasyczne rub’a’dubowe, medytacyjne sesje, łącząc w sobie klasyczne jamajskie brzmienia, brytyjskie skoczne stepersy, unikatowy styl francuskiej sceny dub, roots dubstepowe wariacje, oraz wszystko to, co wpadło w ich kocie łapy i uznali za warte zagrania. Od pewnego czasu Psychokot Sound zajmuje się także animowaniem trójmiejskiej sceny spod szyldu reggae-dub, organizując imprezy i wydarzenia mające na celu propagowanie kultury sound systemowej. Ich najnowszym „dzieckiem” jest organizowana w „stoczniowym” klubie Buffet w Gdańsku cykliczna
impreza o nazwie „Dub Your Stress Out”.

RUFJAN – jako człowiek całkowicie otwarty na muzykę, inspirację czerpie ze wszystkiego. Wcześniej zajmował się muzyką hardcore/punk. Po rozpadzie ostatniej kapeli, zamienił gitarę na gramofony i zajął się prezentowaniem swojej kolekcji płyt winylowych po klubach. Stylistycznie oscyluje gdzieś pomiędzy Londynem, Chicago i Kingston. Obecnie zajarany kulturą sound systemową prezentuje w swoich setach coraz więcej współczesnej muzyki dub i uk steppers.
