Yes, it is a decade of Dubateers music at the sound system arenas. For me it’s a personal thing, because many of Nick’s productions were my introduction to the world of dub from UK. And now many of them is available for us on one release!
If you are deep into dub you will know and recognize them, if you are new then this album is a must for your musical education. Indisputable killers like “Jah Make We” with Singer Blue, “We rule”, “My people” with Carliesa Meakes, crazy “Twilight Skank” but also a lot of unreleased, instrumental dubs! A ruff&tuff guide to Dubateers’ musical style – digital madness based on a heavyweight bassline, often with fast tempo, with a catchable, recognizable main theme – just listen “Jah Make We” or “We Rule” and you will now what I’m talking about. And this album has one of my most favourite tracks with Creation Stepper – “Go Backayard”, mixed by Disciples, followed by a really raw and rough dub version.
