Idren Natural

[Review] “Musical Order” / “Rocking Time” / “To The max!” / “Dub Order” (Forward Fever Recordings)

forwardAfter many great releases and co-operations, Belgian Forward Fever decided to launch their own label Forward Fever Recordings and release this “debut” 12”. As they wrote:

“This release is a special livication to all soundman and woman who inspired us over the years! All singers & players, all promotors pushing the roots and culture vibes and everyone supporting soundsystem culture!”

The release comes with one riddim with 3 vocal versions and 1 dub. Idren Natural, Ras Cloud, Ion One and Rudy Roots are praising what we love to the max – sound system culture, music and the message it delivers. The riddim maintains the high level we are used to from previous Forward Fever’s productions – rich sound, beautifully arranged compositons with warm horns and bass.

Another top release!

Mystical Records presents Idren Natural & Mystical Powa & Addis Pablo

Mystical Records presents Idren Natural & Mystical Powa & Addis Pablo

PrintWe’ve been writing about Mystical Powa recently, about their collaboration with Kibir La Amlak (http://dubmassive.org/7818/mystical-powa-meets-kibir-la-amlak).This time two great artists met on their new 12” – Idren Natural and Addis Pablo. The A side belongs to the first one, who is one of the most characteristic vocalist on the sound system scene for me. His mystical, hypnotic vibe is heard especially in “Hold a Gathering” where the producers from Mysitcal Powa also added their mystic to this steppers style riddim. The B side belongs to Addis Pablo and his melodica, which is a very successful completion of the main theme.

Two releases from High Elements

Two releases from High Elements

Two new releases from French producer Jideh “High Elements” are just available on the market. Records were issued by Shieldrum Records and Control Tower took care of distribution.

First release with catalog number SR002 is 12” with dynamic steppers with Idren Natural and Bunning Judah on the vocal.

SR003 is a 10” with calmer riddim, decorated with nice horns part. Here we got Donovan Kingjay on the vocal and on the B side contains 2 dub versions – first with melodica, second is hypnotic, strongly dubwise variation of the riddim.

Idren Natural meets IDavid – “Soulfull”

Idren Natural meets IDavid – “Soulfull”

INIONE-001_coverI think I don’t have to introduce to you that sound system warrior, but it’s worth to mention a few facts. Idren Natural is present on the scene for almost 20 years. He belongs to Ini Oneness crew and has been released on a few 7” and 12”s with producers like Jah Works or Dub Creator. 2014 brought an LP with him and a producer IDavid, who works in Guidance Studio. We have here 5 Idren’s tunes and 5 dubs by IDavid in UK steppers climate. The lyrics are filled with spirituality (“Depth of my soul” or “Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding”) and respect to the sound system culture (“Soundman culture”). That topic is grateful to laud and the public will surely like it – tunes like that were recorded by i.a. YT with Digitaldubs – “Sound system culture”, Macky Banton with Ackboo – “Turn up the amplifier” or Dubdadda with Zion Train – “Hail the selector”. Now we can add Idren to this upright circle because “Soundman culture” along with the dub version is this album’s killer. The whole release is amazingly energetic, what is also confirmed by “Gideon Time” and the title track. A separate thing are the dub versions, which are incredible, with beautiful melodica melodies and a deep bass. The album is distributed by French Control Tower so there is nothing else than order it quickly.
