MrDill Lion Warriah – “Music is a Mission”

MrDill Lion Warriah – “Music is a Mission”

Music is a mission FrontAfter a lot of productions (i.a. http://dubmassive.org/7731/pressure-dub-sound-2) MrDill Lion Warriah released his debut album “Mission is a Mission”. The publisher is an independent Italian label 4Weed Records that MrDill is connected with. Following their own description the album is based on rhythms with a deep bass and lyrics fit to the current state of life, with a taste of dubstep style. A big asset of the disc, besides the strong lyrics, are rhythms by various producers from the top of the dub scene. We can hear Neil Perch from Zion Train (tune ‘Another Story’ has been described here http://dubmassive.org/en/9518/rudebwoy-corporation-ep-lions-den); Sweden’s Fischerman with a genious version of ‘Babylon Illusions’; there is also strong Italian-based crew: Linea Di Massa (Italy/Brasil), Mystical Powa (Italy), Dub All Sense (Italy/UK), Dziga (Italy/UK), Delta Dub (Italy). Plus Dubmatix from Canada and Monkey Jhayam from Barsil. The album contains 12 tracks – 7 regular ones, 4 dub versions and an amazing intro enchanted by legendary Dub Dadda. MrDill chatting and singing very consciously criticises contemporary society. Lack of freedom takes a beating in “I am not a robot”, shifting values and killing basic rights in “Babylon Illusions”, economy and any destruction it brings in “No Tribal War” and any repressions directed in the youth in “Hard time fi di youth”. In “Step outta Babylon” he gives us a hope of better tomorrow and a getaway from Babylon and in “Jah Jah knows” shows his spiritual self. To sum up – it’s a great album where everything harmonizes and the music is a real mission, 100% successful debut even though MrDill is an experienced warrior. We wish him as much as possible albums like that!

“Rudebwoy Corporation” EP (Lion’s Den)

“Rudebwoy Corporation” EP (Lion’s Den)

LIONS4WD001_frontEvery time I hear about Lion’s Den’s new release I wonder what they will surprise me this time. I got used to guests in the form of interesting  vocalists and amazing, creative producers (often less known). This time they join forces with Italian label 4Weed and give us 12” with 6 heavy productions. Side A is 3 tunes with music of Dub All Sense, who has created very heavy riddims. On vocals we have Mr Williamz (already known, among others, from cooperation with Mungos Hi Fi) with incredibly strong Haffi Bun”; MrDill Lion Warriah from Italy in My Story” has showed how to flow over a typical dub roller. Longfingah in “Old Shatterhandproves his high form. Side B are remixes that will make smile on the faces of all dubheads. At the beginning we get version from French Welders Hi Fi Haffi Bun” is even stronger than the original, which seemed impossible Another surprise is the remix by Zion Train in “Another story“, in his style, with exposed bass, he lift us above the orbit. At the end we get a remix by Jambassa from Italy, who used to work a lot in the netlabel Aquietbump. Here they present amazing tune, slightly embedded in the style of minimal dub.

Mic Ah Bun (EP)

Mic Ah Bun (EP)

[4WDRCD004] coverThe Italian are operating well on the world dub scene for a long time, it’s enough to mention netlabel medleys Italian Dub Community, which show us variety and power of Italian dub. EP that i am going to introduce today is the best proof of it. Two strong players made it in cooperation – Dziga and MrDill Lion Warriah. Both of them have netlabel releases on their accounts – Dziga (producer) worked i.a. for netlabel of French fresh-poulp.net and the vocalist MrDill Lion Warriah recorded for 4weed.net. Recently, we published a reviwe of a single with his contribution “Roots fanatics”. On Mic Ah Bun, among the two mentioned artists, you can hear French producer Krak In Dub from Fogata Sound, with great, more dub-ish version of the original tune (excellent for sound systems), better from Dziga’s creation in my opinion – more electronical, with heavy dubstep accents. As for MrDill Lion warriah he chatted on a high level, the lyric telling about warriors that fight using the words and microphone gloriously matches the music. Follow the productions of the Italian dubheads because they release many pearls, just as in the France.
