B-No ft. Trevor Junior – “People Are Changing” (Cubiculo Records)

FB_Label7_CR_1Cubiculo Records label surprises me with each, new release. After their last trip to rocksteady area now they return to their favourite rub a dub style – but in a classic way, in contrast to the previous more digital release. The classics we mainly owe to Trevor Junior, a reggae legend from 80., who, on the riddim by French producer’s B-no from Upfull Posse Crew, proves that rub a dub is still very well even in the times, when this genre is not so popular as back in the days. Trevor signs, that “people are changing” in these hard times and everyone has some problems. A big plus for Trevor and B-no for such uplifting riddim and words!

Webcam Hi-Fi robią ostatnio świetną robotę jeśli chodzi  o promocję rootsowych, jamajskich wokalistów. Przedostatnie wydawnictwo w ich labelu Tube Dub Sound Records przypomniało nam o mocno chyba niedocenionym DJ’u jakim był i jest Ranking Trevor. Podejrzewam, że sporo osób może kojarzyć go z kawałka Wailing Souls “War”, gdzie pojawia się z piękną, melodyjną nawijką. W “One program”  Webcam Hi-Fi zrobili mu kapitalny, żywy riddim z fajnymi dęciakami, na którym The Original Ranking płynie swoim głosem. Druga strona 1o” krążka to ciekawy remiks kawałka spod ręki Weeding Dub.

Najnowsze wydawnictwo Tube Dub Sounds to kolejny wielki wokal – Trevor Junior, znany choćby z takich kawałków jak “I and I time” czy “Hippy hooray”. W “Musically” Francuzi przygotowali mu spokojny, one-dropowy riddim z przyjemną melodiką, a Trevor Junior udowadnia, że wciąż jest w doskonałej formie. Druga strona 7” singla zawiera wersję dubową.
