Archetype Records presents – Haspar

Archetype Records presents – Haspar

artworks-000139693521-e51uma-t500x500Archetype Records is already a widely respected label, especially for all deep&heavy vibes addicts and we’ve been writing about them several times (http://dubmassive.org/en/search/Archetype). The new release from this stable is a really big calibre – a heavyweight steppers made by Archetype’s representative Haspar. The A side with “Throw Them Back” holds very nice, soft voice of Madu Messenger and Haspar proves, how well he feels in heavyweight riddims. The B side contains “Legends” with 2 dub versions, which are perfectly cut out for the last tune, to finish late, alive skankers and fill them with energy till the next session.

Mystical Powa – Junior Dread/Sista Lore

Mystical Powa – Junior Dread/Sista Lore

indeksWe’ve already introduced you Mystical Powa crew in our articles http://dubmassive.org/en/search/mystical+powa. Here comes their 12″ which shows that Italian dub is going stronger strong. A side is “Warriors” by the great Junior Dread outta Brazil on the heavy stepper riddim inna roots fashion which doesn’t happen very often in days of digital dub. Side B comes with “Zion Valley” with Sista Lore on the vocal. Sweet melodies and melodical voice bring another precious vibe to this vinyl record. Looking forward for the 7th release out of Mystical Powa, which will come out very soon!

Jah Free on two releases

Jah Free on two releases

a side Hail the king labelJah Free is one of these producers, who don’t let us forget about them and at least once a year give us some great music. And so it is with 12” “Hail The King”, which was released at the end of 2015 and it is the essence of Jah Free’s style – a heavy, meditative tune w brilliant horns by Ital Horns and hypnotic vocal of Jah Free, who sends his thankfulness to the Almighty. Additionally we get a version with a frequent guest of Jah Free’s productions – I-Mitri; also two instrumental versions are present – one with melodica and a pure riddim.

The second release was issued by Italian label/sound system Bababoom Hi-Fi and it is 7” “We are the ones”. This tune was originally included on Jah Free LP “Unity” from 2003 with guest appearance of Matt Abyssinian, but still in 2015 it kicks well and does not lose the power. After such musical feast all I can do is waiting for Jah Free in session.

Green Lion Crew – “Ganja Morning Riddim”

Green Lion Crew – “Ganja Morning Riddim”

Green Lion Crew paying respect to the roots of reggae music! And that’s one of the reasons I really love this culture. Their new “Ganja Morning Riddim” is based on a huge boom hit made by legendary Desi Roots in 1979 called “Weed Fields”!

On the relick you will hear voices of King Mas outta USA and another veteran Mikey General with talented Mr Williamz. When you will go for this one, pay attention to the dub versions! Totally 3 different ones to make you jump and twist on the shaken ground!

Gentelman’s Dub Club – “The Big Smoke”

Gentelman’s Dub Club – “The Big Smoke”

1500-x-1500-Album-CoverIt’s been two years since the last album of Gentlemans outta Leeds. With their new one they took a cooperation with Easy Star Records (Easy Star All Stars, John Brown’s Body, The Black Seeds, etc). On the new disc you will find 11 tracks which will bring you the best mix of live reggae, heavy dub, solid bass and the great horns. With this album you can meditate, contemplate, relax or skank, jump and twist! This one is very different from their last CD. I believe in this one you can feel more experience and good planning, even for the track setlist – everything has it’s special place. Now I just can’t wait to feel that energy and see GDC live & direct on the road!

10 years of Control Tower Records

10 years of Control Tower Records

avatars-000001273629-9phbde-t500x500Control Tower Records label and shop has reached 10 years of being a part of a sound system business. Probably many of you dubheads have some of their records in your box. Due to 10th Anniversary, at the end of 2015 they let out another 7″ entitled “Love we want” voiced by one & only King General outta Bush Chemists crew. Riddim was made by Val (Dawa Hi Fi) and it’s digital style perfectly works with King General as usual. It is also worthy to check out three other 7″ promoted by Control Tower, released by Original Formula (Echo Roots & E.K.S.S. / Sweden). First one is “Rootikal” – ruff digital tune with mad E.C.U. on the vocal. Second one is calm and deep oriental stepper tune produced by London based Dairy Dub. Third one is another E.K.S.S. production which is a heavyweight steppa dub tune to make you jump and skank!

We wish Control Tower Family many successes during upcoming years of their great works! Forward!
