Green Lion Crew – “Ganja Morning Riddim”

Green Lion Crew – “Ganja Morning Riddim”

Green Lion Crew paying respect to the roots of reggae music! And that’s one of the reasons I really love this culture. Their new “Ganja Morning Riddim” is based on a huge boom hit made by legendary Desi Roots in 1979 called “Weed Fields”!

On the relick you will hear voices of King Mas outta USA and another veteran Mikey General with talented Mr Williamz. When you will go for this one, pay attention to the dub versions! Totally 3 different ones to make you jump and twist on the shaken ground!

Gentelman’s Dub Club – “The Big Smoke”

Gentelman’s Dub Club – “The Big Smoke”

1500-x-1500-Album-CoverIt’s been two years since the last album of Gentlemans outta Leeds. With their new one they took a cooperation with Easy Star Records (Easy Star All Stars, John Brown’s Body, The Black Seeds, etc). On the new disc you will find 11 tracks which will bring you the best mix of live reggae, heavy dub, solid bass and the great horns. With this album you can meditate, contemplate, relax or skank, jump and twist! This one is very different from their last CD. I believe in this one you can feel more experience and good planning, even for the track setlist – everything has it’s special place. Now I just can’t wait to feel that energy and see GDC live & direct on the road!

Zion Train – “Fire” EP

Zion Train – “Fire” EP

FireEPbannerDj Perch still on the move! This time he invited strong JA new roots representation. At the beginning we have sweet voice of sister Jan9 in combination with son of Melodica King Augustus Pablo – Addis Pablo – who is putting some magic into the “Fire” Riddim. Next Micah Shemaiah with his unmistakable voice praising the Father, and last but not least Sis Awa outta Italy. What a great combination! Great singers and a strong riddim inna Zion Train fashion – wicked horns, nuff space and ruff bass!

10 years of Control Tower Records

10 years of Control Tower Records

avatars-000001273629-9phbde-t500x500Control Tower Records label and shop has reached 10 years of being a part of a sound system business. Probably many of you dubheads have some of their records in your box. Due to 10th Anniversary, at the end of 2015 they let out another 7″ entitled “Love we want” voiced by one & only King General outta Bush Chemists crew. Riddim was made by Val (Dawa Hi Fi) and it’s digital style perfectly works with King General as usual. It is also worthy to check out three other 7″ promoted by Control Tower, released by Original Formula (Echo Roots & E.K.S.S. / Sweden). First one is “Rootikal” – ruff digital tune with mad E.C.U. on the vocal. Second one is calm and deep oriental stepper tune produced by London based Dairy Dub. Third one is another E.K.S.S. production which is a heavyweight steppa dub tune to make you jump and skank!

We wish Control Tower Family many successes during upcoming years of their great works! Forward!

New dub releases from Dreadsquad

New dub releases from Dreadsquad

SF029 artwork (1000x1000)We are very proud to present two new releases of our fellow countryman Marek Bogdański aka Dreadsquad and his label Superfly Studio. This time he went more into the dub side of his musical nature. The first track is called “Last Tune” and here is what the author said about it:

This is Heavy UK Steppers style – designed for take the remaining crowd in the dance all the way through to when the lights go up.

The riddim, produced by Marek with cooperation with Kush Arora, is raw energy for the people in the morning  – party style steppers with absolutely awesome brass section by Smerins Anti-Social Club. This energy is strengthened by Blackout JA flowing madly on the vocals.  This is also a preview of a forthcoming Dreadsquad’s LP with this vocalist. This tune is a boom shot without a doubt!

SF030 Artwork (1000x1000)The second release is made by Piotr Krakowski  – composer, music producer and trumpet player known from several projects: Pankracy Sessions, SmokeDaCrackoff or King & Krakowski. He invited a very talented Polish artist Kasia Malenda, with whom he cooperated earlier in SmokeDaCrackoff. Her voice can be heard on  “Inside Out Poland presents Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp CD” and now she’s working on the new material with Good Paul and as Temper Temple with Marcin Kwazar.

The tune is a heavy dub with massive bass and trumpet’s part, which surrounds powerful Kasia’s voice and conscious lyric. A serious steppas business for huge speakers!

Dan I Locks – “Jah Is Near”

Dan I Locks – “Jah Is Near”

isd7004-flyer_pixel-promo-webThis one is a next, good I-Skankers’ release. Dan I Locks (Deng Deng Hi Fi/Sweden) has already voiced many great tunes, but I think that he is not recognizable enough yet. “Jah is near” is a heavy and ruff steppa dubplate produced by Echo Roots. The voice of Dan I Locks perfectly fits with the riddim and bring up some serious warrior vibez. Makes you wanna sing “leggo you worries” with him!

Brother Culture – “Dreadlocks thing”

Brother Culture – “Dreadlocks thing”

coverBrother Culture continues his cooperation with Evidence Music label. A top riddim to “Dreadlock thing” is made by Derrick Sound and Little Lion Sound; it’s a powerful steppers where Brother Culture flows madly, almost shouting about the wisdom from heads beautified with dreadlocks. Additionally we get two versions – dub mix and instrumental.

A real boom shot for soundsystem sessions!

Heavyweight dub from Culture Dub Records

Heavyweight dub from Culture Dub Records

CDR004-banThe combined forces of the two French teams involved in the dub have released two brilliant 10”. Culture Dub Records and Control Tower are the highest quality mark in the world of dub. The first release which they are presenting is a digital, heavy rhythm by the duo Digital Seal, enriched with amazing vocals of Sista Bethsabee, who in the tune “Little Things” won my heart. Also what did the guys from Digital Seal on page B in the track “Spellin” is the world championship in a climate of Stand High and it will definitely rock the dub arenas. The second 10” is also a killer – again we have Sista Bethsabee on vocals, while a heavyweight riddim is made by Mexican Stepper, best known for publishing in netlabels – but recently he is also increasingly appearing on vinyl.  The tune “Better Life” is a solid dub where the bass rumbles and floats above the earth. The second tune “Irie” also with beautiful vocals by Sista Bethsabee is a heavyweight steppers roller. Long time I have not heard so brilliant, beautiful women’s voice  on such heavy riddims that I love!
