Mark Wonder – “Inalysis/Braveheart”

Mark Wonder – “Inalysis/Braveheart”

markwonderMark Wonder is one of those Jamaicans who don’t have to prove anything, having cooperating with reggae legends (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6wEU-g4ApQ), a lot of music and concerts on his account. The presented 10″ from Addis Records is a piece of great music on the highest level with a strong message and Mark’s beautiful vocals. The opening ‘Inalysis’ is an anthem to the freedom inna roots&culture style, where bass pulsates lively and the horns make it lofty, complementing this masterpiece (by the way, I haven’t been so magnetised and softened by roots for a long time). Alex Schneiter is responsible for the beautiful trumpet, additionally there is Jonah Dan on the percussion and Christine Miller in the chorus. Knowing that Russ D took care of the mastering I can freely say that the crew is built by true masters. The B side is a bit different, more lively, presenting a well-known riddim – ‘Tempo’. Mark introduces an amazing harmony that makes you feel grateful and the dub version deepens the experience. Of course, both of the tunes have a dub version.

A great release with beautiful music!

Roots Ista Posse & Easton Clarke – “Dig A Hole/Dig Tha Storm”

Roots Ista Posse & Easton Clarke – “Dig A Hole/Dig Tha Storm”

11701154_10153069224063165_590194812142248535_nRoots Ista Posse crew often is an often guest on our website (http://dubmassive.org/en/tag/roots-ista-posse/). After the last LP it’s time for a 10″ with a very good vocalist. Easton Clarke sings to a very heavy steppers rhythm with a dub version and an additional third version featuring I-Plant and his mystical melodica, which is a very strong point of the album. And the last tune is a serious soundystem killa!

Zion Train – “Just Say Who” EP

Zion Train – “Just Say Who” EP

Eggy033_labelsThis is the 3rd release promoting Zion Train’s album (http://dubmassive.org/10178/zion-train-land-of-the-blind-lp), which has been awaited by many fans because of legendary Horace Andy’s participation. “Just Say Who” EP consists of 4 tracks, 3 of them are tunes that has not been  included on “Land Of The Blind” album. Rasta warrior Fitta Warri begins this release with strong message and he feels very well on Perch’s riddims. Next is Longfingah, who proves how versatile vocalist he is. And the icing on the cake – remix of “Just Say Who”, where Italians from Almamegretta meet Horace. His voice was praised many times, I can only add that we get an excellent, beautiful tune from 2 legends. I can only imagine how great it would be to have full album with such voice and such dubs…
