Dub Invaders Vol.3 Part.1 – Aku-Fen feat. Omar Perry / Twelve feat. Doubla J

Dub Invaders Vol.3 Part.1 – Aku-Fen feat. Omar Perry / Twelve feat. Doubla J

Adobe Photoshop PDFDub Invaders, a soundsystem part of High Tone crew, have been working since 2009 and gives us great dub music (http://dubmassive.org/en/tag/dub-invaders/). Presented release is the third one and also the first chapter. The A side begins with Omar Perry, long time not heard on heavy dubs. Here he fits in very well with Aku-Fen riddim – a modern, electronic dub with cosmic sounds; the version of this one is a pure heavyweight with a fat and massive bassline. On the B side we get Twelve with a young MC from Germany Double J and they present us very bassy and dubby digital dancehall with sharp synths. As usual I look forward for the next releases, every time Dub Invaders surprises me with their approach to dub.

The release will be available from April 1st, 2016.

Junior Dread – “Wonderful Feeling” (Gorgon Sound ) / “Freedom” (DJ Madd)

Junior Dread – “Wonderful Feeling” (Gorgon Sound ) / “Freedom” (DJ Madd)

ms020dJunior Dread is already well-known artist, who has cooperated with Cubiculo Records, Reality Shock, Mungos Hi Fi or Dubateers. Thanks to his a little bit hoarse voice and conscious lyrics he gains hearts both listeners and producers. Moonshine Recordings label likes to polish up such diamonds and this time they have done it with the help of Gorgon Sound and DJ Madd. The former has remixed Junior’s “Wonderful Feeling”, sending this tune straight to the soundsystem arenas; definitely this begs for a dub version! On the other hand Dj Madd sends “Freedom” into dubstep and jungle areas.

2×12” from Digi.Signa

2×12” from Digi.Signa

MURRAY-DEF-e1432063206553BLACKOUT-A-JUNGLEWhen I receive information about new Digi.Signa releases I listen to it as soon as possible and it never disappoints me (http://dubmassive.org/en/search/digi+signa ). My joy is doubled now as the label gave us two 12″‘s, the first one in a heavy dub style produced by Murray Man and Zion Train and the second one in a jungle style, but with some dub accents. Murray Man sings ‘Blazing Fire’ on a heavy rhythm, remixed by Perch who created one of the best Zion Train riddims alongside the horns crew. The other one is a heavy jungle hit with vocals by Blackout JA and a stepper killer remix by Numa Crew –  extraordinarily powerful!

Ns Kroo & Bony Fly – “Mike III/Hook”

Ns Kroo & Bony Fly – “Mike III/Hook”

SP001 face AA lot of dubheads will find it a completely fresh thing and a confirmation of the thesis, that dub is everywhere. Ns Kroo & Bony Fly confirm this releasing for a new label Sparring Partners. On the 12″ album dub is mixed with really heavy musical stuff, as they sent steppers to a far musical galaxy of Detroit or Chicago – the kingdom of techno. We get four tunes, where dub is combined with a lot of synthesizers, rhythm machines and an overwhelmingly heavy bass line – the outcome is amazingly hypnotic and trance-like.

Moa Anbessa – “Jah Jah Thank You/ Step It Up”

Moa Anbessa – “Jah Jah Thank You/ Step It Up”

11169799_844631468954840_8909224862608259633_nItalian crew (http://dubmassive.org/tag/moa-anbessa) presents us a great 12” with two talented vocalists, who they often promote on their sound system – Don Diego and Well Jahdgment. Don Diego opens this release mystically in a tune praising The Most High and thanking for His presence. The riddim made by Moa Anbessa producers delivers a strong bassline with beautiful melodies and the dub version brings yet more mysticism. The B side belongs to Well Jahdgement – in “Step It Up” a steppers rules both musically and lyrically. The dub version is also very powerful and I think that it will force everyone to dance!

Dubkasm feat. YT and Rudey Lee – “Higher Meds / Coming in Ruff”

Dubkasm feat. YT and Rudey Lee – “Higher Meds / Coming in Ruff”

DUBK025 LABEL CROP rezizedDj Stryda and Digistep put their attention to education in a roots&culture style, it is known for anyone, who has been at their show or listened to Stryda’s show. On their releases they also promote good, old and unforgettable tunes, often they also refresh them to teach younger generations about importance of roots. So it is with this 12”, where YT and Rudey Lee go wild vocally, musically Dubkasm has refreshed a classic from 90., which was voiced by – amongst others – Dennis Brown (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LQcMl1bLyo) or Shabba Ranks.

To sum up – this new 12” brings great energy and vocalists. The dub version as always has a powerful bass and vibe, which is associated to Dubkasm’s productions.

Steppas Records – “Monsoon Come/Contraception”

Steppas Records – “Monsoon Come/Contraception”

AS1215-Art-(A)After having some troubles with neighbours Steppas Studio gives us next 12” with the retake of thundering “Monsoon Come”. The track remixed by Cranky General & Dutty Hands now get an excellent, rootical flavour a with a magic melodica flowing through the riddim. Previously played as a dubplate, now is available for everyone.

On the B side we have a powerful track by Zentash Gigawatt, known from the previous Trigram release. A deep and tribal riddim carries serious, responsible message from Ras Tinny about contraception and his voice perfectly matches this vibe. This is the second release with Zentash in Steppas Records and I’m definitely waiting for more!

Psalm Collective – “Footsteps of Madiba”

Psalm Collective – “Footsteps of Madiba”

PROMO 2Recently we’ve got many tracks recorded as tribute to Nelson Mandela – like OBF with Mr. Williamz http://dubmassive.org/10041/two-new-releases-from-o-b-f-sound-system or Dubass Sound System with Alpha Steppa – “Musical Tribute to Nelson Madiba Mandela”. Now the Italians from Psalm Collective join them with their melodic tune in a modern roots style – “Footsteps of Madiba”. The first vocalist is conscious DeeJay Macka B and next we have a deep dub version by Paolo Baldini, known – amongst the others – from Alambic Conspiracy. The B side consists of two vocal versions – by Ras Twelde & History Man and Asante Amen, all nicely fit into the riddim. In the end we get instrumental version.
