Cubiculo Records has not been releasing steppa tunes for a while, but they are back in a champion style. The riddim prepared by Bony Fly in his unique digital style with a fast beat and great arrangement (check him also on this release) has a really huge potential to rise a fire on dancefloors. Especially that Spanish singer Sr Wilson flows on it perfectly and smoothly. Next cuts to the original are riddim track and extended dub version full of effects.

Forthcoming release from Dub-Stuy Records connects two worlds to create really dangerous one. Dub meets grime here, Bukkha’s heavy riddim mixes dub effects with grime beat. On top of it, we get one of grime’s most recognisable voices – Killa P. 100% murderer style.
On the flip side, we get very nice instrumental, which connects a solid beat with melodic parts and sampled vocals. The track moves very smoothly between melodies, dubwise and combination of both, which changes the centre of gravity and the mood.Very good showcase of Bukkha’s skills.

Moonshine Recordings release number 34 presents French artist Jérôme Meyer aka Von D, known already in the dub world from Khaliphonic (ZamZam) or Mungo’s Scrub-a-dub. Besides, three albums and multiple Eps for labels such as Black Acre, Boka or Argon and plenty of shows make his mark in the underground music.
The style presented here is a mixture of dubstep flavour and heavy dub with deep and spatial effects, creating a large soundscape. Both sides of this 12” bring us galloping and heavy steppers vibes with plenty of dub techniques applied, creating deep and meditative atmosphere.

Dub-Stuy Records presents the classic Kunta Kinte riddim taken into the 21st century by DJ Madd with excellent, different voicing styles featuring raggamuffin soldier Burro Banton, Bristol-based unique Rider Shafique and melodic Shanti D. The timeless, well-known melody, recognised everywhere, fitted into refined DJ Madd’s dub aesthetics. A killer tribute to the history of Jamaican and sound system music.

NS Kroo to młoda i kreatywna ekipa z Genewy, a label Stand High Rec prezentuje ich 4 utwory są wyprodukowane specjalnie na soundsystemy (tu trzeba oddać im honor i przyznać 100% rację). Strona A to „Fit” – psychodeliczny steppers z elementami house, natomiast „Mono/Poly” to już jazda bez trzymanki do jakiej przyzwyczają nas ostatnim czasem reprezentanci sceny francuskiej. Natomiast strona B to jeden kawałek z wersją – „Back in 4000” elektro-steppers z elementami techno z konkretnym tempem.
Trzeba przyznać, że mikstura, która wychodzi spod rąk NS Kroo jest unikalna i podążają ścieżką wytyczoną na ich pierwszym wydawnictwie w Sparring Partners (http://dubmassive.org/en/11595/ns-kroo-bony-fly-mike-iiihook). Tak trzymać!

Francuski label Rootical Attack po raz kolejny mnie zaskakuje, tym razem koncepcją albumu – showcase na którym to testuje wokalistę Dixie Peacha na produkcjach ludzi związanych z labelem. Samego wokalistę raczej nie trzeba przedstawiać, tym bardziej iż to jeden ze śpiewaków Jah Tubbys Soundsystem, natomiast ekipa Rootical Attack Allstars to Tozer, Peah, Mr. Zebre oraz Alex Sci-Fi. Co tu dużo mówić – ten album to 8 ciężkich produkcji w najlepszym soundsystemowym wydaniu, na których Dixie czuje się jak ryba w wodzie.
Wysoce rekomendowana 12”!

After many great releases and co-operations, Belgian Forward Fever decided to launch their own label Forward Fever Recordings and release this „debut” 12”. As they wrote:
„This release is a special livication to all soundman and woman who inspired us over the years! All singers & players, all promotors pushing the roots and culture vibes and everyone supporting soundsystem culture!”
The release comes with one riddim with 3 vocal versions and 1 dub. Idren Natural, Ras Cloud, Ion One and Rudy Roots are praising what we love to the max – sound system culture, music and the message it delivers. The riddim maintains the high level we are used to from previous Forward Fever’s productions – rich sound, beautifully arranged compositons with warm horns and bass.
