Strictly Dub Records – “Dreadlocks” Danman&Riddim Tuffa

Strictly Dub Records – “Dreadlocks” Danman&Riddim Tuffa

A-SDRV7002‘Dreadlocks’ is the second 7” of an Estonian label Strictly Dub Records. The music is created by Riddim Tuffa crew alongside Truth Town Players and the vocal belongs to Danman from Iration Steppas. This is a solid stepper with retro synths and a strong, breathtaking bassline where Danman flows on the riddim and sends all the dreadlocks to Zion.

Crazy Hertz – “Material Things” (Steppas Records)

AS7002-inbag-ASteppas Records label brings us another talented producer on its 7” release. Crazy Hertz is an Italian artist and presents us a deep, slow but seriously heavy and rolling riddim full of dub. Vocally supported by a great voice of Jane Warriah, with a important message about material world, this tune flows through the speakers massively and knocks to our minds.

Indica Dubs – “Let Jah”

Indica Dubs – “Let Jah”

a1954934285_10This is one of these records which draws attention not only thanks to music, but also because of a story – and as a reviewer, writer and an educated historian I love this the same as a resonating bass, delays and echoes. Indica Dubs, Earl 16 and also Bredda Neil from King Shiloh are the main characters of this story. It started in 2012, when Indica went to King Shiloh’s session in London, where a new 12” with Earl 16 was introduced to a public. He was given a copy of this release from Bredda Neil with his autograph, later in the night he got also Earl’s autograph and they exchanged contacts fur some future works. After 3 years this story had a happy end, when Indica called Earl and proposed recording a 10”. Earl reacted with huge enthusiasm, he remembered their first meeting. Thanks to this short story we get 4 amazing tracks. “Let Jah” is a beautiful Earl’s singing with a conscious lyrics, additionally we have a dub version made in cooperation with Forward Fever. On the flip side we have the riddim enhanced by a lovely violin played by Marriane and a dub version.

ZamZam Sounds presents two 7” with deep dub

ZamZam Sounds presents two 7” with deep dub

zam26_1200pixw ZamZam Sounds presents two new 7” with deep dub music. The first one comes from Rob Smith aka RSD, who puts his own style of warm bass, syncopated drums and a lot of ornaments and effects into two tracks – “World Hungry” and “Dub Pride”. Both of them cannot be easily qualified, which is their power – you hear so many different flavours here, all connected by hypnotising beat.

The second one contains “Crucify Me” (with a dub version) by Heights & Worship (Ras Heights of Ital Sound System, and Rob Paine of Worship Recordings and Solomonic Sound). This one drop riddim is fat, a little bit psychedelic, with dense atmosphere and a great vocal part by Carlton Livingston.

Archetype Records – “Malloreddubs Western”

Archetype Records – “Malloreddubs Western”

11046493_459318777565146_7655457993724531417_nArchetype Records as a label has worked for 1 year and they already have a lot of soundsystem killers in their account. In the beginning few words about the latest 7” “Malloreddubs Western” with Italian dubheads – Sardinia Bass Legalize. This crew has participated in many netlabel releases, here they present us steady riddim with a strong bassline and western-style vibe. Additionally, Natural Tribulation crew adds their version on the flip side and thanks to horns part,  they have liven up already interesting riddim.

This 7” shows that Archetype Records is open to dub in different styles, they have already proved this also on free compilation Archetype Records All Stars Volume 1. Every tune from this one is a soundsystem killer, the same is with two albums (also free) by Haspar.

Beam Up – “No Chains/Travelling”

Beam Up – “No Chains/Travelling”

BeamUp NoChains_Travelling SMLBeam Up has just had a little break after releasing his new LP (http://dubmassive.org/9998/beam-innerstand) and now he’s pampering his fans again, especially those beloved in classic dubs in King Tubby’s style. On the 7” we get 2 track from “Innerstand” – “No Chains” and “Travelling” and for me it is the best choice! Additionally as a download we have  dub versions (brilliant ones, it would be nice to have them on 10” or 12”) and amazing remixes by FleCK and T.Power

Tracks&Dubs feat. Paul Fox – “Warning” (Tribe 84)

Tracks&Dubs feat. Paul Fox – “Warning” (Tribe 84)

11150971_1089264821089115_3161181513976386742_n

We are very happy to share the information about the birth of a new label, dedicated to roots/dub music and related with our friends. Tribe 84 was established by Jaszol from Roots Revival and Mamba from Most High Warriah.

Everything started from a conception and willingness to release beloved music on a beloved, vinyl medium. In the same time Radek “EMZK” Ciurko and Bartosz “King DuBear” Cymes decided to join their forces in a new project called “Tracks&Dubs”. The duo has set a clear plan for their activities. Firstly the composition was made and recorded by EMZK in Something Like Studio, then the tracks were sent to King DuBear, who is responsible for dub mixing in this project. Soon after additional musicians participated – an excellent drummer Marek Sieroszewski and next – Paul Fox. This very talented vocalist from UK with an extraordinary voice without hesitation decided to sing to the music of Tracks&Dubs – he liked the riddim so much, that during 24h he wrote lyrics and recorded his vocal. The track called “Warning” was ready. Next, the paths of the project and the label has crossed and with cooperation from both sides the plan of releasing 7” vinyl was successful.

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with this tune and keep in touch with Tribe’s 84 activity, which is not limited only to Tracks&Dubs – currently they are working on a new releases and the next premiere is planned in 2-3 months.

The release will be available in the shops this week.
