Graphic122 kwietnia miała miejsce premiera kolejnego już wydawnictwa w dorobku Hatti Vatti. Ten muzyk i producent związany z trójmiejską sceną muzyczną znany jest głównie z rasowych produkcji dub – techno (“Mindset”,”New Moon”).

Pierwsza z nich to kompilacja numerów Mungosów z jednym z najlepszych wokalistów reggae/dancehall Kenny Knotsem – “Brand New Bangarang”.

Kolejną nowością jest Mungo’s Hi Fi ft.Yellowman & Mr Williamz – “Dubplate master”. Mr Williamza swoją nawijką unosi ciężki rytm Mungosów, a wspomaga ich mistrz-legenda Yellowman.

Ostatnia płyta to singiel Brazylijczyków z Digitaldubs z wokalnym udziałem Brother Culture.

“Balkan Reggae” – Mahala Rai Banda

1. Nick Manasseh feat. Gregory Fabulous 3:48 / 2.Jstar 3:34 / 3.La Cherga feat. Adisa Zvekic 4:08 / 4.Mad Professor 3:34 / 5.G-Vibes feat. Errol Linton 3:44 / 6.Vibronics 3:20 / 7. Koby Israelite feat. Annique 3:46 / 8.Kanka 3:43 / Kyle Sicarius 3:44

Jeśli chodzi o warstwę wokalną to jest mocno – legendarny Cornell Campell (z Christine Miller w tle) w “Too much confusion” i Reality Souljahs w “Jah Provides”.

Dub Caravan meets Hornsman Coyote – “Breath of Peace”

Dub Caravan meets Hornsman Coyote – “Breath of Peace”

Sorry, this entry is only available in Polish. For the sake of viewer convenience, the content is shown below in the alternative language. You may click the link to switch the active language.

Ale też Dub Caravan wykonali wielką robotę, aby przenieść nas wszystkich w klimaty reggae lat 70, do korzeni i esencji muzyki reggae.

Ackboo – “Turn up the amplifier”

Ackboo – “Turn up the amplifier”

0002178356_350France brings us a lot of positive dub experience this year. The new long play made by young producer Ackboo surely has to be counted among them. He appeared on the scene around 2007 and 2 years after he released his first single “Bangladesh Dub” thanks to which the British and French scene remarked him. Since then, he released more singles, including “How Long” that opened many doors in front of him, such as performing on big European festivals. Hammerbass label (promoters of Kanka, Miniman and others) got interested in his talent and released the mentioned album, which strongly pretends to be the album of the year. Ackboo got assisted by leading soundsystem vocalists – Macky Banton recorded a tribute to the whole dub-sundsystem scene on a riddim, which presses you into the ground and teleports to a party lead by Iration Steppas. Another guest is Omar Perry on a riddim based on “Welcome to Jamrock” – flows excellently. In the next tune we get charmed by King General and the heavy bassline. Besides the known voices, we can hear some rookies – Green Cross, Marcus Gad or amazing Dr. B in awesome “Rootikal Warriors”. Musically, Ackboo is backed up by Matic Horns and Chazbo. Lastly, we have a little flavour: his “Bangladesh Dub” remixed into dubstep by ODG. There is nothing else for me to say, but the fact, that you need to buy this album! By hearing it you will discover the true meaning of heavyweight dub steppa!!!

Jah Free’s tribute to Richie Rootz

Jah Free’s tribute to Richie Rootz

2256-2389-largeIt’s not a novelty, and lately on the site we post some reviews of “fresh” albums, I want to present 12″ record “Oh no” produced and released by Jah Free. He’s well known to Polish dub fans because of few reasons – he had few tours in our country and, what’s more important, he recorded album “Pillar of Salt” that included some of the Polish vocalists i.a. Junior Stress, Globus, Pablopavo and Jahga. As for the 12″, Jah Free, I would say, resurrects dead and deeply regretted dub warrior Richie Rootz, singing his words and sampling in his voice, which preserved on tracks. The text stands against the countries that improve their weapons and lead to self-destruction. Richie Rootz is an extraordinary person. Born in Leicester, where he aided Vibronics, he co-created Counteraction label and a band with the same name. He was also a social worker. In 2011 he’s been called by The Almighty One. Thanks to Jah Free we get the album, which is a heavy projectile of his positive vibration.

Control Tower attacking!

Control Tower attacking!

largeFrench label Control Tower serves us 12″ record featuring rasta warrior Fitta Warri. He’s known in Poland due to DJ Perch – in 2005 Zion Train had a tour, on which Molara played for the last time and Fitta Warri for the first time. Thereafter, Deep Root label released few singles with his tunes on riddims made by Abassi and then there were no hearing about him. Of course he made some songs, unfortunately on a poor level. Recording soundsystem killer “Hammer Dem Down” in 2011 was the turning point. Recently, Fitta recorded “Drum sound” and it might be conquering soundsystem sessions as well. Meekman is responsible for the riddim and Dub Machinist for the dub version. Anybody, who forget about mad vocalist named Fitta Warri should quickly catch up.

A1- Fitta Warri – Drum Sound
A2- Meekman – Infinite Drum Dub

B1- Meekman – No Dumb Dub
B2- Dub Machinist – Whawise Dub
